Cookie Policy
We use two strictly necessary cookies and nothing else. No advertising, no analytics, no third-party tracking.
This Cookie Policy explains what statusdns.com, operated by InsideMaps Bulgaria EOOD, stores in your browser and why. Because we use only cookies that are strictly necessary to provide the service you request, no consent banner is required under the ePrivacy Directive and the GDPR; we describe them here for transparency.
1. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. “Session” cookies are deleted when you close the browser; “persistent” cookies stay until they expire. Browsers also offer local storage, a similar mechanism for small values that never leave your device.
2. Cookies and Storage We Use
| Name | Type | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
sdns_session | First-party, strictly necessary | Identifies your session so you can stay signed in while using the site, carries the anti-forgery (CSRF) token that protects every form and lookup, and holds one-time status messages. | Session (deleted when you close the browser) |
sdns_remember | First-party, strictly necessary, optional | Set only if you tick “Remember me” at sign-in; lets us sign you in again without a password on the same browser. Removed when you sign out. | 30 days |
sdns_cookie_ok (local storage) | First-party preference | Remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, if one is shown. | Until you clear site data |
All our cookies are set with the Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax attributes.
3. Third-Party Cookies and Requests
- Paddle checkout. When you purchase a paid plan, the checkout is provided by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which sets its own cookies for fraud prevention and to complete the payment. See Paddle’s privacy policy.
- Cloudflare. Our site is served through Cloudflare, which may set a strictly necessary security cookie (for example
__cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots when protection is triggered. - Google Fonts. The Inter typeface is loaded from Google’s servers; this is a plain HTTP request that does not set cookies, but Google receives your IP address and browser details (see the Privacy Policy).
We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social-media plugins or any other third-party tracking.
4. How to Control Cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings (Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies; Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security; Safari: Preferences → Privacy; Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions). Blocking sdns_session prevents signing in and running lookups from the site, because the anti-forgery protection depends on it; the public tools continue to work for read-only pages and the API works with an API key without any cookie.
5. Changes and Contact
If we ever add cookies that are not strictly necessary we will update this page, add a consent mechanism first, and announce the change. Questions: [email protected] · InsideMaps Bulgaria EOOD, Graf Ignatiev St 44-A, fl. 4, 1000 Sofia, Bulgaria.
