Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 16, 2026
This policy explains what StatusDNS (“we”) collects when you use statusdns.com and the StatusDNS platform, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account data — name, email, company, password hash, plan and billing status.
- Usage data — the domains, IPs and records you look up or monitor, results of those checks, timestamps and the IP address of the requester (used for rate limiting and abuse prevention).
- Technical data — browser type, pages visited, referrer, kept in server logs for 90 days.
- Communications — messages you send us through the contact form or by email.
2. How we use it
To provide and improve the service, run the checks you request, send the alerts and digests you configure, bill you, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data and we do not use your lookup data for advertising.
3. Public data
The checks themselves query public sources (DNS, RDAP/WHOIS, blacklist operators, your public web and mail servers). Those third parties may log the query in accordance with their own policies.
4. Retention
Check history is retained for the period included in your plan (7 days to 3 years). Anonymous lookup logs are kept for 90 days. Account data is deleted within 30 days of account closure, except where retention is required by law (e.g. invoices).
5. Sharing
We share data only with processors needed to run the service (hosting, email delivery, payment processing), under written agreements, and with authorities when legally required.
6. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data from your account settings or by contacting privacy@statusdns.com. EU/EEA residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
7. Cookies
We use a strictly necessary session cookie and, if you choose “remember me”, a long-lived login cookie. No third-party tracking cookies.
8. Changes
We will announce material changes on this page and by email to account holders.
